Josie went missing....Aunt Elena found out she was taken to the hospital. We're allowed to visit, but we can't get her out.

( She hates the sound of that. And the hospital comes back up because of course it does. )

Who. Who took Josie to the hospital?

I don't know! I didn't see or hear them I just woke up and she was gone.

(and considering lizzie's time in that place....well she doesn't feel any better than hope does about josie being there.)

Aunt Elena was able to find out from one of her demon connections where she was.

( She crossest her arms, that familiar anger bubbling up again. )

She didn't just get here, she's been here. She was here in September, but -- he took her to the hospital and thought she wasn't real so he didn't tell any of us.

( Thanks to Lizzie, she knows it's not a real hospital. She'd heard all about her stay. That Josie could be going through the same thing. )

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Elijah suddenly believed all the women needed to be taken there.

( It's callous and cruel, but it is what it is. She's angry. SHe's allowed to express it. )

I'm glad I barely saw him, and that Josie and I have our own room now away from him and other adult men, even if Josie is gone right now.

( She'd worked through it. She had. But. God, if it doesn't feel good for her best friend to get it. )

Please, I think whoever posts room assignments gets off on teenage girls rooming with inappropriate men.

(no offense...well maybe some offense, but still, everything she ever read on elijah made him sound like the most measured of the originals but this just sounds unhinged and this is coming from a girl who legit thought she made up a boyfriend in her mind.)

Well, if you ever need to escape inappropriate men, you can always crash with us. Or me, for the time being.

(not that elena hasn't also volunteered to keep her company while josie is gone but hope would be welcome too. misery loves company. plus elena doesn't need to feel like she has to watch her all the time. she deserves to have a life too.)

Yeah, I will probably be taking you up on that offer. I like Wade and all, but, some teenage girl time might be just what the doctor ordered.

( Maybe with screaming. But, also, she feels like she doesn't quite have to scream now. She'll support Lizzie's screaming. )

(hell sure isn't going to create fun for them, so they'll have to create it themselves, best they can given the circumstances.)

( It's not hers to say, but she has opinions. And, those opinions are, Lizzie doesn't need to be alone. )

That's literally out of a horror movie. So. The lake? I don't think there's anything in it that can get us while we scream.

Elena's offered to stay some nights too, so you guys could switch off or something.

(lizzie really doesn't want to be alone. she's never lived alone and while her sister is stuck in that hospital is not when she wants to start.)

Sure, we'll make a schedule. I can only avoid my mom for so long. Avoiding my mom. My dead mom, what's wrong with me?

( She starts off toward the lake, though, slinging the bag over her shoulder. Her hand rests on the strap where it meets the bag opening, in case she needs to use it. )

Nothing. I mean...it's hard. When Jo, my birth mom, was brought back, I didn't want to get to know her because it felt like I was betraying the mother who raised me. I lost my chance to get to know her. But feelings are complicated.

(and considering how hayley introduced her presence, she doesn't blame hope, honestly.)

If I never hear the word boyf come out of my mother's mouth again, it will not be too soon.

( She glances to Lizzie, and then back as they keep walking. )
